It has been one of the most foul-mouthed feuds of recent times. Cheryl Cole and Charlotte Church have been going at it like two dockers with Tourette’s for the last three years. But in an unusual step, feisty Geordie Cheryl decided to bury the hatchet by penning a chapter in Girls Aloud's new book saying she regretted their public mud slinging. Not for long, though. When Charlresurrected their catfight by calling the girl band “five dogs without balls”, Cheryl had a change of heart. Despite the fact the book — called Dreams That Glitter — is due out in a matter of weeks, Cheryl was last night trying to get the olive branch pulled at the last minute. As the tome was due to start its print run, she faces a nail-biting wait to find out if she caught it in time. Charlotte, the hard-boozing, potty-mouthed, one-time Voice Of An Angel, came out with the dogs comment on her Channel 4 chat show last month. • Read More? |

I've added 10 candids of Cheryl and Kimberley flying out to Europe from Heathrow Airport yesterday.| Ex Girls Aloud Dancer in latest UK boyband, Avenue | Avenue are Max George (19), Andy Brown (21), Ross Candy (20), Jonny Lloyd (24) and Scott Clarke (23). Now with a new management team in place, Crown Music Management, home of Sugababes, Gabriella Cilmi, Mutya Buena and other purveyors of pop perfection, Avenue have been recording their debut album with some of the best pop writers the industry has to offer. Avenue’s Ross says “Our tunes are poppy in that they’re catchy, but they’re the kind of tracks that you could listen to in clubs as a dance tune, or in a bar… Pop has changed – it’s not about cheese anymore. You can make pop music that’s credible.” You may recognize Jonny as he used to be a backing dancer for Girls Aloud. He says: “It was great and they were so lovely. I was either partnered with Nadine or Nicola. One time I had to lift Nadine up which wasn’t a bad job. I admire what they do and I think they’re great reps for UK girl bands. They also have a great choreographer and choreographies.” You can check out more about the boys by visiting their Official site, here. Debut single, Last Goodybe is available for download next Monday 8th September. |

Simon Cowell had a furious bust-up with new X Factor judge Cheryl Cole - when he compared a dodgy duo to her group, Girls Aloud. In unscreened scenes, a female duo calling themselves TL sang About You Now by the Sugababes at the Manchester auditions. But the two were far from pitch perfect. Dannii Minogue asked if they thought they sounded like any other bands. And TL - Tafadzwa Gweza and Linda Zana-Villace - replied by saying Girls Aloud. Cowell said scathingly: "Yeah, yeah, I get that." A seething Cheryl, 25, turned to him and said: "Don't be funny, Simon." Cowell looked across and added: "I'm not being funny." Cheryl hit back: "Yes you are - you are taking the absolute mick." • Read More? |

I've added more candids to the gallery of Cheryl and Nadine from the past week or so ago.| Louis Walsh: 'Cheryl will quit Girls Aloud' | Pop boss Louis Walsh reckons Cheryl Cole will QUIT Girls Aloud within the next two years. | X factor judge Louis, 56, thinks the Girls Aloud star, 25, will become a full-time TV presenter and revealed: "Cheryl is stealing the show this year." And as the Westlife and Boyzone manager revealed to notw.co.uk last month, he has backed the tough-talking Geordie to emulate scouse legend Cilla Black. Louis said: "Simon says he thinks Cheryl could become the new Cilla Black. I think she'll do a couple more years in music, then become a TV personality permanently. She's a great singer and a great dancer and she's got great style. She's definitely stealing the show this year." A source told NOTW online: "It's a case of when rather than if now that Cheryl is doing so well on the show." • Read More? Moyles brands Girls Aloud star 'old cow' | DJ Chris Moyles has branded Girls Aloud singer Nicola Roberts a "sour-faced old cow". |
The Radio 1 presenter claimed Roberts should be more appreciative of her wealth and success. "Nicola is not the most striking one out of Girls Aloud, unless by striking, you mean ginger," said Moyles. "It's nothing to do with her hair or the way her face or body is, it's that the sour-faced old cow never smiles - ever." He continued: "She always looks peed off, like she doesn't want to be in the band. Someone should show her the Girls Aloud bank account because if she worked at Tesco's - and it would take a few years to build up to that level for her - she wouldn't be making the money she's making now." Moyles added: "She's got a great life flying all over the world yet her face looks like she works at Netto." • Read More? |

A group of artists, including group Girls Aloud, are scheduled to record a charity anthem for a campaign against knife crimes in London. The project will also include singer Steve Edwards and some world champion athletes, such as boxers Johnny Nelson and Junior Witter. The collaboration which will be named under U.K. Flow, is expected to contribute in the fund raiser program, conducted by a number of knife crime charity organizations. The song is initiated by Stephen Nicholas, an actor who starred in a British television series "Dream Team". Commenting on his motive, Nicholas says that he genuinely wants to raise awareness about knife crime and its consequences for a number of victims who have been stabbed to death across the country. "We just want to raise awareness. We haven't got any ulterior motive, our only motive is to stop kids dying," he explains. • Read More? |

I've added 35 photoshoot icons into the media section of the site. More graphics coming soon.| Girls Aloud respond to “sixth member” rumours | We like Girls Aloud just the way they are, so we were a little bemused by stories in the tabloids over the weekend claiming that they were launching a reality show to find a sixth member. And it seems the girls are bemused too – they’ve issued a statement saying that the report is “totally ludicrous”. Here’s what else they said: |
“The story is completely fabricated. As Girls Aloud, Nicola Roberts, Sarah Harding, Kimberley Walsh, Cheryl Cole and Nadine Coyle have become one of the country’s best-loved groups. They have no desire to change the line up. Over the last six years they have scored a record breaking 17 top ten singles and performed three sold-out arena tours around the UK. Girls Aloud are currently in the studio putting the finishing touches to their fifth album due for release in November.” Ooh, get them! Still, we’re a tiny bit disappointed that our dreams of joining Girls Aloud have been shattered. Again. Source: here. |

Charlotte Church has reportedly restarted her long-standing feud with Cheryl Cole by attacking Cheryl’s judging style on The X Factor - and her decision to stay with husband Ashley Cole after he cheated on her. Charlotte is quoted in the News of the World as saying the Girls Aloud star has “proved she’s got no backbone” after choosing to abstain from commenting on one-time friend Nikk Major’s performance on the opening show of the ITV1 series last week: “X Factor needed someone with wit and grit but she couldn’t even give an honest answer to Nikk, let alone charm her way out of the situation. “[And] to take Ashley back shows complete lack of self-respect.” The two women have been engaged in a war of words since Cheryl criticised Charlotte for stealing Girls Aloud’s sound for her pop album ‘Tissues and Issues’ but they have both made it clear they’d like to end the exchange. I've added HQ captures from last night's episodes of The X Factor and The Xtra Factor.| Girls Aloud to audition for sixth member | Pop sensations Girls Aloud are to recruit a sixth member through a TV talent show. |
The girl band will audition thousands of hopefuls as part of an X Factor-style series to be screened next year. All five members will form the judging panel and pick a girl to join them on stage for a live show. The band - formed during ITV reality series Pop Stars: The Rivals - are considering making the winner a permanent "understudy". A tv insider revealed: "The girls have never forgotten that reality TV gave them their break. Now they want to give someone else the chance to enjoy a taste of the success they have enjoyed. • Read More? |

Simon Cowell clashes with Cheryl Cole for the first time in tonight's X Factor episode after he accuses a girl group of trying too hard. Best friends Tia Lau, Layla Manoochehri, Phoebe Lau and Marisa Biliterri from Bristol hope to become the first group to win the ITV1 talent series, but their choice of outfits fails to impress Cowell. "It's all a little bit over-dressed, too thought out," Cowell explains. "I would have rather four girls like you come in, in jeans." Cole, who found fame on Popstars: The Rivals, hits back: "In fairness, when you come to an audition, you come dressed how you feel best. You don't think 'I'm gonna throw on a pair of jeans and a jumper' because if they had, you would've said, 'I didn't think you tried with the clothes!'" When Cheryl claims that the group have succeeded in standing out from their rivals, Cowell continues the bickering, telling the girls: "Yeah, but that's not a compliment." Refusing to be undermined, Cole continues: "Take it as one." Tune in to The X Factor at 7.30pm on ITV1 to see if the judges can set aside their differences and come to a decision about the girls. Girls Aloud HQ have unfortunately just been notified that the Girls' last date this summer at Bowood House has been cancelled. Due to circumstances beyond our control the show will no longer be happening however all tickets will be refunded by the promoter. This means your final chances to see the girls perform this summer will be at Battle Abbey this weekend and Harewood House near Leeds on Friday, 29th August. The Girls are really upset as they had been looking forward to finishing their summer dates in style. Kimberley says, 'We always hate it when a show gets cancelled – we always feel so disappointed but it's worse when our fans feel let down in any way. Unfortunately this cancellation is totally out of our control and we're truly sorry to any of our fans for this disappointment. We're going to focus on our last two summer shows and give them our all and see this summer out with a bang! Love & kisses, Kimberley.' Source: here. |

The X Factor judge said the media is "irresponsible" in their coverage of female celebrities' weight. She told Hello!: "There's too much pressure on women of their size these days. Girls are constantly being told they're either too fat or too thin, which is irresponsible." Cole added that she admires the figures of female stars from Hollywood's golden age. "Women looked like real women in those days," she noted. "I was reading an old book about Hollywood starlets from the 1950s and loved the photographs inside. You can see the women's true shapes as their pictures were never retouched." Source: here. |
